Body Sealant

Beitrag von Profpinz »

I was just wondering if this is typical of the quality of the applied "Sika" sealant on the 718 platform.
I'm not sure if "additional" sealant was applied during it's assembly by HiComm or if this is original SDP factory applied quality.

It's not a major dillema no matter what (and it's getting replaced) but I've always held the factories quality in high regard, so I'd be somewhat dissapointed if this was there more recent standard.

The sealant itself SDP applied to my 718 looks like it is the same material or at least it had the same consistency when it was applied. The difference is that it looks cleaner. The SDP guys just used one straight pass with a brush along every seam. Then again mine was built in 89 so it is not really a recent Pinzgauer.

I think that the sealant in your pics was applied by HiCom.

G'Day Richard, I always thought more of SDP quality wise, so I would "hope" that the selant in the pics was applied bt Hicom. :D
